Limited Edition Maryland Thunder LP

This special double-sided LP record contains over 40 minutes of powerful sounds recorded in the Allegany Mountains with restored steam locomotive No. 1309, a relic of the CHESAPEAKE & OHIO RAILROAD - which now operates in excursion service for the WESTERN MARYLAND SCENIC RAILROAD.

From the distant, mournful call of its single chime "hooter" whistle to its idiosyncratic, raucous exhaust, this exclusive record harkens back not only to the era of steam power, but to a time when the sounds of long-lost locomotives were pressed into vinyl just like this one.

On the "A" Side, you'll be trackside and in the cab as 1309 slips through the yard at Ridgeley, West Virginia, up and down Helmstetter's Curve, and as it hustles freight up the final ascent into Frostburg, Maryland.

On the "B" Side, enjoy two extended and exceptional cameos from the guest whistle of PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD Steam locomotive No. 1361 and a six-chime whistle from a NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD engine as 1309 echoes out of history and into your living room!
