WM 2-6-6-2 No. 1309 (built as C&O Class H-6 No. 1309 in 1949) will be on the point of the freight trains. Some days, it will appear as WM 1309. Other days, it will operate as C&O 1309, and there may be even more possibilities in store.
The freight train will be a mix of 1950s and 1960s cars from WMRR’s Heritage Equipment fleet. We expect to have at least a dozen, and perhaps as many as 16 cars. The cars will be primarily from C&O, B&O, Clinchfield, ACL. L&N, NYC, PRR and other Eastern Railroads.
Recently re-painted Western Maryland Railway caboose No. 1813 will bring up the markers.
Our Chase Train consist will be two coaches (to ensure that everyone has at least one full seat pair), kitchen car no. 855, and table cars 850 and 200 for lunch, dinner, and snacks throughout the day. There will be plenty of room for participants and equipment and to spread out.
Diesel locomotives 501 and 502 will handle the Chase Train and do most switching.
